Once you have all of your media created and collected, it's time to assemble it.

Find software that matches your level of video editing ability in order to assemble your digital story.

If you have made a two column script, refer to it to organize the material you will be assembling.

Software Options

There are various types of software available for you to use to assemble your digital story depending on your editing ability, experience and budget.

Easiest: drag and drop or slideshow

If you have never edited before, and are not interested in learning to edit, choose software that allows you to drag and drop your content, or allows you to add audio (voiceover) to a slideshow. Often, these apps will automatically add transitions between clips and add movement by scaling up the photos for you.

Simple editing apps

With the popularity of vlogging comes many new apps for quick and easy video editing. Some are more intuitive than others. You won't have as many customization options as the pros, but you probably don't need them. This simplification makes it easier for you to navigate the software in order to make your video.

Professional software

If you are ready to dive into professional software, be sure to allow extra time for your learning curve.

Favorites include:

Adobe Premiere Pro

Final Cut (Mac)

Da Vinci Resolve (free)

Mobil editing apps

Edit video on your mobil device with an app made just for that (usually with the help of the cloud). If you plan to use your phone or tablet to create your images or videos, this may be a good option.
